"Thank you, Merci" CD re-released by DistroKids Sept 2025 (nine of 2009's original twelve track release). A dedication to the musicians of New Orleans (recorded 2007 and 2008) while promoting the compositions at the Vancouver Jazz Festival for 4 years. Mimi’s love of intricate rhythms, melody, and harmony within an environment of spontaneous conversation, holds her heart steadfastly in the creative and passionate energy of jazz.
This CD features all of these elements. It was recorded live off of the floor with 3 takes each song. The best take was chosen with a few vocal intros and outros added later on. And, the verse for Chantez-Les-Bas was redone. With Russ Botten (bass), Tony Foster (piano), Joe Poole (drums) with arrangements by Russ and Tony. Special guest, Tom Colclough (clarinet) on Chantez-Les-Bas, may he rest in peace.
